This fall Jamie has enjoyed working with students throughout the Mid-Atlantic Region! In recent weeks, Jamie has led rehearsals with the Peabody Symphony, the Baltimore Symphony Youth Orchestras, the Chesapeake Youth Symphony Orchestras, and the Southern Maryland Youth Orchestra.

Orchestra Society of Philadelphia
June 14, 2019
Jamie returns to the Orchestra Society of Philadelphia to conduct Mendelssohn's Meeresstille und Glückliche Fahrt and Beethoven's Symphony No. 1 in C Major. This orchestra is made up of professional and community musicians from the Philadelphia area, and meet every week to play different repertoire. Jamie has developed a close relationship with the OSP, being invited to return four times since first conducting the ensemble in June of 2018.

Fort Worth Symphony Orchestra
April 5-7, 2019
Jamie joins the Fort Worth Symphony Orchestra as Cover Conductor to Music Director Miguel Harth-Bedoya for subscription concerts this spring. The program features Percussion Soloist Colin Currie in Andrew Norman's Switch concerto, Dvorak's Carnival Overture, and Martinu's Symphony No. 1.

Batlimore Symphony Masterclass
March 6, 2019
On March 6, Jamie joined fellow young conductors in a masterclass with the Baltimore Symphony Orchestra led by Music Director Marin Alsop. The repertoire for this masterclass included Rimsky-Korsakov's Scheherazade. In this photo, Jamie listens as musicians from the BSO give invaluable feedback from his performance.

Jamie Conducts Frederick All-County Orchestra

This week Jamie conducts the Frederick All-County High-School Orchestra in Frederick, Maryland! Repertoire includes Telemann, Sibelius, and Grieg.

Cabrillo Festival of Contemporary Music
July 30-August 3, 2018
Jamie attends the prestigious Conductors Workshop at the Cabrillo Festival of Contemporary Music in Santa Cruz, CA. Jamie will conduct the Cabrillo Festival Orchestra in masterclasses led by Cristian Măcelaru and Octavio Más-Arocas.
Susquehanna Symphony Orchestra
June 3, 2018
Jamie joins the Susquehanna Symphony Orchestra in Bel Air, MD as Guest Conductor for a Summer Community Concert. This program will feature Bernstein's (arr. Mason) Selections from West Side Story, John Williams' Suite from Star Wars and more! Partnering organizations will be on hand working with the SSO to raise awareness for the opioid crisis.

10th Gregorz Fitelberg International Competition for Conductors
November 1, 2017
Jamie has been invited to participate in the 10th Gregorz Fitelberg International Competition for Conductors being held November 17-26, 2017 in Katowice, Poland. Along with other young conductors from around the world, Jamie will conduct the Silesian Philharmonic Orchestra in repertoire ranging from symphonies by Beethoven, Brahms, and Tchaikovsky, to works by Bartók, Shostakovich, Lutosławski, and Penderecki.

Jamie to Attend Peabody Institute
July 20, 2016
Jamie will join the prestigious conducting program at the Peabody Institute of the Johns Hopkins University in the inaugural class of Marin Alsop. During this two year residency, Jamie will have the opportunity to conduct Peabody Ensembles in rehearsals and performances, and will participate in conducting masterclasses with the Baltimore Symphony Orchestra. In addition to his studies with Maestra Alsop, guest teachers include Hannu Lintu, Nicholas McGegan, Leonard Slatkin, Markus Stenz, and Markand Thakar.

Jamie Advances in Besançon Competition

Following a successful audition in Montreal, Jamie has been selected as one of twenty finalists to appear in Besançon in September! 238 conductors auditioned for this prestegious competition.

Jamie is the recipient of the 2013 Thelma A. Robinson Award!
June 1, 2013
The Conductors Guild announces Jamie Reeves as the winner of the 2013 Thelma A. Robinson Scholarship Award. This distinguished award and $1,250 prize is given biennially to a U.S. citizen who has participated in at least one Conductors Guild Conductor Training Workshop.
Reeves participated in the Conductors Guild Conductor Training Workshop the Richmond Symphony (VA) with faculty JoAnn Falletta, Gustav Meier and Erin Freeman.

Jamie conducts William Mayer's "Dreams End"

IX Gregorz Fitelberg International Competition for Conductors

Jamie has been selected out of 200 applicans from 37 different countries to participate in the 9th Gregorz Fitelberg Competition for Young Conductors. He will conduct the Silesian Philharmonic Orchestra in front of an international audience in this prestegious competition.
